DAY 1: INTRODUCTION TO BRISBANE
An introduction to Brisbane starts our day with a local guide. The day includes Mt Coot-tha Lookout and lunch with a talk on the verandah overlooking a section of the Brisbane River at Newstead House. Take a walk down to the property's own cruise dock & join a short cruise with River City Cruises to Southbank. Let's finish the day in style with drinks & nibbles aboard the Wheel of Brisbane, it's a fun way to soak up the scenic 360 degree view of the city.DAY 2: IPSWICH & SURROUNDS
This morning we head west to one of the region's most interesting places - Summer Land Camel Farm. Learn about the history of camels in Australia and the powerful immune proteins contained in camel milk, our tour also takes in the interesting farming operations and the chance to meet the camels. Our afternoon visit is to Woodlands of Marburg is a heritage listed Mansion and Estate, full of history and the atmosphere of a bygone era.DAY 3: EXPLORING STRADBROKE ISLAND
Moreton Bay, off the coast of Brisbane, is home to North Stradbroke Island. We take the Stradbroke Ferry across to Dunwich & visit the Historical Museum which shows us the extensive history of the Quandamooka people, convict history, shipwrecks and maritime history of the Island. A sightseeing drive through to Point Lookout has us disembarking to view the coastline below. With a little luck we may spot some local wildlife, such as Turtles, Dolphins and Manta Rays, or even a Humpback Whale. Enjoy stunning views & lunch at the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel.DAY 4: HISTORIC BRISBANE
We start the day behind bars at the Boggo Road Gaol. Our historical tour will see us immersed in the past of crime and punishment. Later today we head to the Port of Brisbane for a tour of the area. On this fascinating tour we will see the daily activities of the Port of Brisbane and learn from our guide how an efficient and sustainable port operates.DAY 5: SCENIC RIM
Today we escape to the Scenic Rim which is flanked by national parks and Mount Tamborine. We'll have a truly rural experience at Towri Sheep Cheese where we'll be entertained with a sheep-milking demonstration and enjoy an impressive array of gourmet cheese tastings. Lunch has been arranged in the quaint township of Boonah at the Dugandan Hotel before a visit to the Kooroomba Vineyards & Lavender Farm for afternoon tea & wine tasting. The cellar door and lavender shop overlook a 6 hectare vineyard and lavender fields with magnificent views of the mountains.Group ready trade partners included in this tour:
