VANESSA AND HEATHER'S NSW ADVENTURE
Wednesday, Sep 20, 2017
Travelling over 2,500km, inspecting 26 hotels, visiting 17 attractions and meeting with 12 clients, was a mammoth journey but we saw so much and arrived home as self-appointed experts of the region.
Expanding Horizons is always on the lookout for new product, great group hotels and interesting places to visit. Our vision is to recreate tours around Australia, in regions that most of your clients have already visited, by including something a bit different to encourage them to revisit.
Ask us a question…. Want to know the best group hotel to stay in Coffs Harbour? How about a special lunch in Byron Bay? Were you aware that Blueberry Farms are overtaking Banana Plantations? How about a boutique winery specialising in Tapas Towers and 17 wines available to taste? Travelling with a local around their home town certainly adds to the experience and we have found some fabulous locals to share their stories. We discovered Sydney accommodation with coach parking, motels that love having groups stay and some that we wouldn’t use.
Of course there were some good times, as well as some arguments with our GPS who generally showed us the correct way but also took us over some very dodgy dirt roads (that will never make the drivers notes) and even directed us to do a U turn on the Sydney Harbour bridge (which of course we didn’t do!) We found ourselves in a bushfire zone and by the time we diverted to our accommodation we could only find crisps, peanuts and wine for dinner at the local club, we cuddled a seal and spoke to a dolphin, fed a bison and viewed some amazing wood turned art.
We are working on some new stay put itineraries to this area – so stay tuned for our updated tours.
