Escape winter on the Sunshine Coast
Friday, Jun 15, 2018
Our Expanding Horizons staff spent a recent weekend on the Sunshine Coast – and what a funny and sunny weekend it was! The hospitality provided, by a range of operators, was awesome. The passion and enthusiasm they all displayed, for the different attractions they operate, convinced us that this part of Queensland should have a “not to be missed” tag to it. We were accommodated at the recently refurbished Oaks Oasis Resort Caloundra – an ideal location for touring groups to be based – and we met a diverse range of “tourism ready” operators, from the unique and privately owned Botanic Gardens at Maleny, to a delightful cruise operator (Noosa River & Canal cruises) on the Noosa River. We discovered a new rainforest walk at the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and learnt about the amazing healing qualities of ginger during a factory tour at the Buderim Ginger Factory at Yandina. For a destination that has great scenery and a huge range of quality tourism product, the Sunshine Coast is “must do” destination for coach operators and their tour groups.
