BRISBANE CLIENT FAMIL

At the end of last month Brisbane was inundated with 37 of our clients and the entire Expanding Horizons Tour Design Team to re-discover Brisbane and her surroundings as well as celebrate our 30th Birthday.

Massive tourism investment has the city buzzing, with an airport overhaul and expansion with new buildings popping up everywhere; there is a positive vibe all round!

It’s a big “thumbs up” for everything we experienced and we certainly preferred the lovely accommodation we stayed in and saw rather than those small, cold cells from Australia’s most notorious and heritage listed gaol! All our guides over the weekend were local experts and bought our experiences to life.

Using Brisbane as a hub made it possible for us to stay at the same hotel and still venture into some areas less known. Stradbroke Island is only a quick ferry ride from the mainland. It has the most amazing coastline and is where we experienced one of the best welcome to countries ever.

The Scenic Rim was a real surprise.  The Towri Sheep Farm’s rustic café and milking shed is surrounded by manicured gardens and country views. The hospitality and amazing produce was next to none and the sheep with personality are something to see! There are so many opportunities to experience the area as the roads weave between a vast array of farmland set at the foot of a very scenic mountain range. Wineries, turf farms, boutique breweries and then, the biggest surprise of the day, the Summer Land Camel Farm – where we not only had the opportunity to ride and meet the camels but also learn about the amazing health benefits of their milk – all scientifically tested by the owner who is also a medical scientist!

Our city day had us discovering the magnificent views from Mt Coot-tha, a lovely lunch overlooking the river beach, a relaxing cruise and much more.

It was truly a fantastic weekend and we all came back a few kilo’s heavier due to the delicious Devonshire teas, cheeses, wines and celebratory dinners!  What a great opportunity to network with our fellow tour operators and see new product.
