TRUFFLE DISCOVERY CENTRE, STANTHORPE
Thursday, Mar 7, 2019
Known as ‘Black Diamonds’, the rare French Black Perigord Truffle is one of the most expensive edible fungus in the world, and is synonymous with French haute-cuisine. Grown entirely underground, beside the roots of host trees, truffles are particularly prized because they are in short supply and only grow with specific soil and climate conditions. The Truffle Discovery Centre is ideally located in Queensland’s premier food and wine region, The Granite Belt. Visitors to the centre are invited to see, smell and taste truffle products as part of a fully immersive experience into the story of this elusive culinary delight.
